The name 'Distracted Calm' comes from the practice of painting this picture with my two sons painting beside me. They would ask me to clean brushes and get new paper, while I was exploring colour and texture, applying paint freely with a palette knife & sense of freedom and calm. Not allowing myself to worry or stress out about the details, but simply to create a harmony of colours. I stopped when I needed to stop. Sometimes we don’t stop until we reach perfection, but sometimes we need to stop to celebrate our imperfections which is what creates the unique beauty in the things around us.
